Researchers from Australia and New Zealand are on the ball. In a recent study, they measured abdominal activation while people performed seven different stability-ball exercises. One clear victor emerged: the stability-ball roll-out. To do it, kneel on the floor with the ball in front of you and your forearms and fists pressed against it. Slowly roll the ball forwards, straightening your arms and extending your body as far as you can without arching your back or letting your hips sag. Then return to the starting position.MEN's HEALTH

How to Apply Liquid Foundation

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Foundation is the basis of many great makeup looks. Foundation can help your skin tone appear even and help minimize flaws. A good application can make the difference between a picture-perfect finish and a glamour don’t. We have all seen bad foundation applications on women who look like they are wearing an orange mask or whose faces don’t match their necks. But there is no reason to be intimidated. It is actually quite easy to apply foundation. Here’s how:
1. Color selection is the first step in avoiding obvious foundation lines. It is best to buy foundation at a store where you can try the colors because it can be very difficult to judge shades based on the package alone. Bring someone with you who you trust to give you an honest opinion about whether or not a shade is right for you. Also, be sure to step outside of the store to see how the color looks on your skin in the sunlight. Foundation that looks great in the store could look clown-like in natural light.

2. Begin with well-hydrated skin for even coverage. Moisturize your face and let it sink in for about five minutes.
3. Pour a very small amount of foundation onto your fingertips and dot onto your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin.
4. Using a damp cosmetic sponge, blend each dot outward until all areas of the face are covered. You can apply a little more if needed. After you are satisfied with the results, take your sponge or brush and blend the line where the foundation ends one more time around the perimeter of your face to ensure that no visible lines remain.
5. Dust with loose powder to help set the foundation in place.
6. Check your face in natural light to make sure everything is blended nicely.
Foundation doesn’t have to be scary to apply or look bad. If you’re not confident in your technique, practice before applying the rest of your makeup so that you can wash it off and start over if you aren’t happy with the results.

Bridal Make-up Tips

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Wedding day is the most memorable and cherished day of one’s life. It is essential to get makeup perfectly flawless by a renowned beautician. Here are some useful tips related to it.

Get Facials
Never get facial a day before the wedding or at that day. Likewise pluck or wax eyebrows at least two days before the occasion
Don’t use alpha hydroxy or retin A cream a day before the wedding.

Cleanse
Before putting makeup the skin must be prepared by deeply cleansing and then moisturizing it 15 to 20 minutes before applying base.
Use concealar in very small amount, it can highlight the part of face it is heavily applied.
The shade of the foundation and concealer should be similar.

Base

Apply foundation according to the tone of the skin. Don’t skip the neck, arms and feet. For oily skin use water based formula and dab gently with a loose powder to absorb extra oil and enhance its staying power. Use pigmented cream foundation then apply powder base over it.
Blusher
Powder based blush is the most suitable of all. Ask the bride to smile then cover the area that naturally blushes. Keep it light otherwise it will look too artificial.
Light contouring of nose and face line is necessary. It should be done with the shades of browns not pinks.
Lipstick

Avoid using gloss. Use lipstick that lasts and is perfectly matched with the shades of the dress. For neutral colored outfit pink or red is appropriate. Dab talcum powder over the lipstick then apply another layer of it to make it more resistant. It is wise to apply with a brush and merge the outline with it. Blend two shades to have the required color tone. Use balm, lacquer or a primer on lips before applying lip color.
Lipliner should be similar in color with the lipstick or it will look a bit awkward.
Follow the natural lip outline. Do not apply beyond that it looks so ugly and untidy.

Eye-Makeup
This is the most important area. Use light base over eye lids. Matching eye shadows with the dress color or motif look stunningly attractive. For brides it is heavy with two or more shades.
Apply eye liner black or colored as the requirement.
Use extended lash mascara. Let it dry then apply another coating to enhance the lashes. Mascara gel that is transparent can be a good alternate to black mascara if there is a strong chance of that leaving spots over the eye lids or below the eyes.
I hope these handy tips will certainly help a great deal in having a perfect makeup experience. Moreover, seek assistance from a makeup expert and do some internet surfing to get extra information.
Have a great time!

Hand Treatment

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

A Quick Hand Treatment

Hands are the most visible parts of you, but they also take a lot of abuse. You use them in everyday activity, and yet, they are the ultimate accessory. You must give them the same attention you give your face.

# Soften your hands even while you do the dishes. Add a little almond oil (about a teaspoon) to dishwater. The water will soften rough skin while the oil seals the moisture.

# Slough off dead skin cells with a solution made of sea salt lemon. Brush it into hands with an old toothbrush. Do this twice a week to soften hands and remove discoloration.

# Wash hands thoroughly with warm water, then, using a coarse washcloth, rub briskly. While skin is slightly damp, apply a mixture of one teaspoon honey and one teaspoon olive oil. Place hands in small plastic bags, then in a pair of cotton gloves for thirty minutes. The heat helps the treatment penetrate.

# Warm a cup of milk in the microwave for thirty seconds (or until warm, but comfortable to the touch). Soak your hands for five minutes to strengthen nails and hydrate skin. Not only is milk loaded with lactic acid, a natural alpha hydroxyl acid that gently exfoliates dead skin, but its high calcium content will strengthen fragile nails.

More Tips

1)  To remove the dark marks caused by a bad sun tan, add 5 table spoons of rose water to one table spoon of lime juice and apply to face or affected area at night. Wash off with water the next morning to find clear beautiful skin.

For rough palms, use a mixture of glycerin and limejuice in equal proportion.

3) For cracked heals, massage the foot with coconut oil and keep the foot in warm water for some time. Wipe the water off the feet and apply a mixture of hibiscus flower(10), Henna (1 handful) and juice of half a lemon. when dry wash it off.

Basic Skin care

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Skin care is an art in itself and this art can be learned by anyone. All you need is a proper guidance and proper understanding of the basic skin care tips. We have tried to throw some light on the finer points of basic skin care.
There are no magic potions that can make your spots and pimples disappear overnight. There is no elixir of youth that can turn back the hands of the clock and give you back the firm, unlined skin of your youth. But there is a way by which you can rejuvenate your skin and bring it back to good health.
Dermatologists, cosmetologists and beauty therapists all agree on the fact that taking regular care of skin is the only way of avoiding problems and delaying the ageing process. So cleanse, tone, moisturize and nourish your skin everyday. Within a week you will be amazed to see the results. The skin has tremendous powers of self-regeneration when properly cared for and it is never too late to start.
Cleansing
Whatever the texture or type of your skin, it requires thorough cleansing. If we could have a look at un cleaned skin through a magnifying glass, we would realize the absolute necessity of a proper cleansing routine. Before it is cleansed, the skin surface is covered by a film of dirt, stale sweat, oil deposits, stale make-up and other pollutants. All these are potent skin irritants. They not only upset the normal balance of the skin, but also hamper its natural functions.
Cleanse your skin, according to your skin type. Splash your face with water then massage with a gentle facial wash and work it up to a lather for about 30 seconds. Take the opportunity to lightly massage your skin, as this will boost the supply of blood to the surface of your skin - which means a rosier complexion. Rinse away with clear water until every soapy trace has been removed from your skin. Then pat your skin with a soft towel to absorb residual water from the surface of your skin.
Toning
Toning is necessary for all skin types. It follows immediately after cleansing and helps to refresh the skin. A good way of toning the skin is to keep cotton wool pads soaking in a bowl of skin tonic in the refrigerator. After cleansing the skin, wipe with the skin toning pads and then pad the skin briskly. This stimulates the blood circulation to the surface. Gentle stroking movements can also be followed.
Moisturizing
The most important part of the skin care routine is moisturizing. Smooth your skin with moisturizing lotions. Dot onto your face, then massage in with your fingertips with light upwards strokes. This will leave a protective film on the skin, allowing make-up to be a easily applied and ensuring there is a balanced moisture content.
Nourishing
Nourishing is a way of supplying emollients to the skin so that it can hold moisture better and performs its other functions. Use the nourishment cream with Vitamin A, which is of utmost importance to the skin helping to relieve dryness and maintain skin elasticity and the nourishing cream with Vitamin E (anti-oxidant) which helps in minimizing cross linking damage.
Tips for skin care
Never rub your cheeks against anything nor let them be pressed or pinched.
Never try to pluck out your pimples. If you do so they will leave an ugly mark on the skin.
Try to be always happy and cheerful. In fact it is medically advisable to laugh daily for about 10 minutes not only for your cheek's up-keep, but even for your normal health.
Don't use any artificial coloring material like rouge etc. to make your cheeks acquire rosy hue. The best way to do so is to mix a few fresh rose leaves in raw milk and crush them to a paste form. Then add a little honey to the paste and apply on your cheeks every morning for 5 minutes. Then rinse it off.

How To Plait Hair

Posted by Tahir | Saturday, February 5, 2011 | Category: | 0 comments

For women, deciding on a decent and convenient hairstyle has always been an issue. The choices are almost endless. This is when the traditional and classic ‘plait' comes to the rescue. Tying a plait together may take a considerable amount of time, but once tied together can prove to be a big boon.
This is because a plait is a no-fuss hairstyle. Once your hair is plaited, you don't really need to worry about your hair turning into a mess in the wind or worry over dealing with a bad hair day. It's all about making the right choice.

Step-By-Step Instructions On Plaiting Hair

Simple Plait

Start off by dividing hair into three equal sections, after combing it out, of course.
Reach out for the section on the left and bring it over the middle section. Then reach out for the section on the right and take it over the middle section, in a crisscross manner.
You should tie both the right and the left section over the middle one. Tie the strands of hair firmly into place.
Repeat this step until you reach the end of the hair. Proceed to finish off the plait with a rubber band tied tightly around the end of the hair.
French Plait

Comb out hair and remove knots and tangles. This is crucial to the ‘success' of a French plait.
Begin from the top and divide the hair into six to seven layers.
You've to be both careful and skilful now. Between your index finger and thumb, grip strands of hair from the top layer of the head. After doing so, divide these strands of hair into three sections. The sections should be almost if not equal in size.
Pull the right section over the middle and follow it up by pulling the left over the same. Repeat this step until the top layer is completely plaited.
Now go on to the second layer. This step too requires concentration and skill. Begin working on the strands of hair on the left side of the second layer and pull it over to the left of the side of the first layer. You should be looking at reaching the middle of what will become your French plait.
Move to the right hand side of the second layer and pull the strands of hair over to the right of the first layer. You simply have to repeat what you did in the left side of the second layer in the right side of the same.
Repeat these steps until all the layers of hair have been pulled to the middle. Finish off the plait by tying together the end of the hair with a rubber or elastic band.

Lipstick Tips and Tricks

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Tip #1: Store lipstick in the fridge. It will last weeks longer.
Tip #2: Never use a tester on your lips. It's just plain unhygienic. Instead, test lipstick on your fingertips. It's a closer fit to your lips than the back of your hand.
Tip #3: Use liner on your lips as a base. Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with the liner first. If you're using light lipstick, try a nude liner.
Then slick your lipstick on top.
Tip #4: Don't skip the liner. Without the prerequisite liner, your lips will look "smudgier" according to Berg, softer & less defined.
Tip #5: Keep lipstick off your teeth with this trick. This is a trick I learned years ago from my mom. After applying lipstick, take your index finger & pop it in your mouth, then pull it out. The excess lipstick will come off on your finger rather than your teeth.
Tip #6: Lipstick can act as a blush. But never use blush as a lipstick.
Tip #7: Apply liner first. Lipstick tends to feather if you apply liner second. Also, you won't be able to see the natural line of your lips if you apply lipstick first.
Tip #8: The older you are, the 'creamier' your lips should look. Women over 50 should avoid matte or a gloss and stick with a creamy lipstick.
Tip #9: Don't throw out a bad color lipstick. Beauty editors know you can create a great lipcolor by combining lipsticks you don't like. You can also color in lips with a darker liner before applying a lipstick that's too bright.
Tip #10: For 'plump' lips, apply liner just outside your natural lipline. 'Nuff said.
Tip #11: Keep lip gloss on longer with liner. Lip gloss is infamous for wearing off fast, but if you fill in lips first with the liner, the gloss has something to stick to.
Tip #12: Heal -- don't throw out -- a broken lipstick. If your lipstick breaks off, simply take off the broken portion with a tissue, then slowly wave a lit match under the broken piece of lipstick. When it's melted a bit, put it back on the base, swivel it down and put it in the fridge -- uncovered -- for 5 minutes.
Tip #13: Avoid orange or brown shades. They tend to make teeth appear yellow.
Tip #14: Save the last bits. Down to the last bit of you favorite lipstick? There's plenty more at the bottom of your tube. Scrape out the last bits with a cotton swap or orange stick & mix it with Vaseline or lip gloss in a lipstick palette.
Tip #15: Keep lipstick off glass. Discreetly lick the lip of the glass before touching your lips to it. It works!

Useful Tips for treating whiteheads

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Whiteheads form due to the dirt on our skin and the toxins in the body so to keep both clean we should wash our face often and drink lots of water to keep the body toxins out.
Following our some tips for treating whiteheads:
  1. Remember whiteheads should be extracted by an experienced person in Pakistan.
  2. To avoid whiteheads from forming in the first place, you should use a soft facial cleanser that is oil-free found in Pakistan and wash your face at least two times a day.
  3. Never squeeze or pick at a whitehead as doing so may spread the irritation and leave an ugly red scar.
  4. Use a face cream or moisturizer in Pakistan which contains salicylic acid to prevent whiteheads.
  5. Always look for antiseptic skin care and cosmetic products in Pakistan.
  6. Use skin care products with benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid or AHAs so you never get whiteheads.
  7. It’s necessary to keep your skin clean all the time in order to prevent the formation of whiteheads.
  8. Drink ample of water to keep your skin and body hydrated and to get rid of the toxins from your skin.
  9. Always apply a toner after cleansing your face in the morning and in the evening to seal the pores to prevent whiteheads.
  10. Remember there is a variation between a blackhead and a whitehead, blackheads are partly blocked pores and the fully blocked pores are called whiteheads. Never try to remove whiteheads at home – this may lead to grave skin infections and lasting scarring.

Relaxing' massage gives body's immune system a boost

Posted by Tahir | | Category: | 0 comments

Love going for that occasional massage appointment in the nearest spa? Well, now there is a reason to increase the frequency of your visit to the massage parlour-it actually boosts your immune system.
Researchers in Cedars-Sinai's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences have found that people who go for massage experience measureable changes in their body's immune and endocrine response
Although there have been previous, smaller studies about the health benefits of massage, the recent study is widely believed to be the first systematic study of a larger group of healthy adults.
"Massage is popular in America, with almost 9 percent of adults receiving at least one massage within the past year. People often seek out massage as part of a healthy lifestyle but there hasn't been much physiological proof of the body's heightened immune response following massage until now," said Dr. Mark Rapaport, chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences.
In the study, 29 subjects received 45 minutes of Swedish massage and 24 received 45 minutes of light touch massage.
Each participant underwent informed consent, a physical and mental evaluation and was deemed to be physically healthy and free of any mental disorder.
Massage therapists were trained in how to deliver both Swedish and light touch using specific and identical protocols.
Prior to the massage, study participants were fitted with intravenous catheters in order to take blood samples during the study session. Then participants were asked to rest quietly for 30 minutes.
Following the rest period, blood samples were collected from each person five minutes and one minute before the massage began.
At the end of the 45-minute massage session, blood samples were collected at one, five, 10, 15, 30, and 60 minutes after the massage.

Pritha
Yes, he can do weight training. Please make sure he makes sure he does the exercises with correct form and technique and progresses gradually to avoid injury.
3. What is the recommended duration for reps in strength training?
A_pratyush
Based on your current fitness level and medical history, formulate an exercise program that is structured, challenging and progressive. Here are some ways you could vary your strength workout routine in order to recruit different muscle fibers and increase muscle mass:
Exercise selection: You can do supersets for bulk and definition – for example; bench press followed by dumbbell flies for the chest muscles or barbell curls followed by dumbbell curls for biceps. To increase intensity target the same muscles from different angles using a variety of exercises.
A set of 8 to 12 reps with 70 to 85% of maximum resistance is recommended for strength development.
Exercise sequence: While performing a series or circuit of strength exercises, it is advisable to proceed from the larger muscles to the smaller muscle groups.
